FAQs
Is Pilates right for me?
The great thing about Pilates is that it's suitable for almost everyone, beginners and those with experience. Unless you have been advised by your GP to abstain from physical activity you will find the exercises very accessible and most can be adapted to suit you and your body's needs.
Pilates is recommended by Osteopaths, Physiotherapists & GPs as part of a rehabilitation process as it helps to develop mind muscle control. Equally if you are already active it will help with coordination, flexibility and general body awareness.
What do I wear?
Comfortable but fitted clothing. If you are on the reformer you will need Pilates grip socks.
I’m a beginner, do I need to have done Pilates before?
No, you don’t need any prior Pilates experience to get started. Sessions are suitable for complete beginners and are carefully guided to help you learn the fundamentals at your own pace. Pilates is also highly adaptable, so whether you’re new to exercise, returning after an injury, or simply looking to move better and feel stronger, the work will be tailored to support you safely and confidently.

What is Reformer Pilates?
Reformer Pilates is a style of Pilates performed on a specialised machine that uses springs to provide supportive, adjustable resistance. It helps you build strength in a safe, low-impact way while improving your core control, posture, and overall body awareness. Because the reformer can both support and challenge you, it’s suitable for all levels and is especially effective for improving strength, movement quality, and confidence in how your body feels.
Is Pilates suitable if I have an injury?
Yes, Pilates can be very suitable if you have an injury. Sessions can be carefully adapted to help restore strength, mobility, and confidence in movement, while the controlled, low-impact nature of Pilates reduces joint compression. This makes it an effective way to support recovery while building strength safely and progressively
